Embracing Our Wholeness - New Moon in Virgo August 27, 2022

Updated: Aug 26, 2022

By Carrie Gane

Faith is all we need this month, for we already have the answers within us.

We have a new moon in Virgo on Saturday, August 27th, 2022 at 3:17 a.m. CST. Virgo marks the end of a yearly cycle. We are completing our journeys of the last year and gleaming the wisdom we gained. Like farmers, we are harvesting and receiving rewards.

We begin this new moon with a grand fixed cross, indicating the tension of opposites. Each of these planets express their energy very differently. Yet if we are aware of what these planets are teaching us, we can see the solid foundation we are learning to build within ourselves.

Venus in Leo- Love the authentic expression of ourselves, our true essence. Step up and be proud of our unique essence and talents, for we are one of the many faces of the Divine. Don’t hide ourselves behind a mask of fear. We can let our true light shine, perceived flaws and all!

Saturn in Aquarius- Connect with our inner light. It is the source of our creative energy and when we let this light shine, we are the creative architects of our world.

South Node in Scorpio- Relinquish our old emotions, dramas and traumas. Go within and allow ourselves to be renewed.

North Node in Taurus- Experience the Divine Light of our Spirit in our human bodies. Tend our own inner garden. Whatever we plant within ourselves we will see bloom in our world.

Uranus in Taurus -Feel the freedom that comes with knowing our special place in the world. The Divine Universe loves each of us. Remember- we are each very needed as a unique part of the Universal Plan.

Simultaneous Retrogrades

We currently have 5 planets in retrograde. Typical retrogrades give us the time to slow down and do the R's- review, reevaluate, revise, release, rework, rebirth, rest.

However, this month we have all 5 outer planets in retrograde- Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. This is very significant.

Outer planets effect our social circles and worldwide events.

Outer planets are also the bridge to our transpersonal nature. They help us understand the purpose of our existence and who we are.

When all outer planets go retrograde at the same time, which is a rare occurrence, we are asked to review, release and rebirth what the purpose of our existence is. Since outer planets are “the ‘higher vibration’ of the inner planets, their retrograde can help us revisit our soul purpose from a new, higher viewpoint. We can integrate more of the voice of our Spirit-Soul. We can reevaluate how to express our true essence in a way that feels joyful and freeing to us!

This month is a good time to strike a balance between completion and a beginner’s mind.

With a true beginner’s mind, we see ourselves in a state of wholeness, because we “don’t know” and we haven’t judged or assigned labels yet. A beginner’s mind allows us to shift ourselves into a new paradigm because we see everything with new eyes, as if we’re experiencing it for the first time.

SHORT EXERCISE TO TRY

Set a reminder each day to practice holding a beginner’s mind for 10 minutes as you go through your day. Can you view each thing you see as if we’re experiencing it for the first time?

Even if you can only do it for a few minutes, it allows you to reconnect to your Spirit and the Divine Spirit within all things.

Look at the building where you work, your coffee mug, your friend or partner with new eyes. Pretend you have never seen this thing in front of you. What do you see?

Metaphors for this New Moon's wisdom

Sabian symbols are metaphors for each degree in astrology. Our metaphor for this new Moon in Virgo at 4 degrees and 3 minutes is “A man dreaming of fairies”.

“A man dreaming of fairies” suggests a dreamlike quality, where we can connect to other non-human realms. To explore and learn from those angelic beings and spirits who wish to assist us along our life’s path.

The metaphor for the Moon, Sun and Earth connection this month is “An all-inclusive dream”.

We are each the creator of our world. We dream it into being through our thoughts, words, emotions, and feelings.

What does an all-inclusive dream look like to you?

The Divine Universe supports whatever dream you dream.
